Have you ever considered one of the "megascooters" (Honda Silverwing, Suzuki 400 or 650 Burgman)? I've been riding a Silverwing for about a month now, and as much as I liked the attitude and individuality of the Savage, the Honda is a much better ride. With the extra 125 lbs., it doesn't blow around nearly as much on the highway. And with the extra 18 HP, it's FAST. Plus, it's got loads of storage space. The CVT transmission seems a bit weird at first, but it grows on you. Just someting you might want to consider.
Whichever way you go, ride far, ride safe.
